First Visit

Your first visit is an important opportunity for us to get better acquainted, and to answer any questions you may have regarding your orthodontic treatment. Building patient rapport and understanding your orthodontic concerns is the key to providing quality care for our patients.

At your first appointment a thorough medical and dental history will be taken, and the Orthodontist will perform a comprehensive examination of the teeth, jaws, and muscles of the face. During the examination, the Orthodontist will determine:

• Is orthodontic treatment necessary
• When is the best time to treat
• What will be the length and cost of the treatment

If treatment is indicated, often it is necessary to obtain diagnostic records to give the orthodontist the information they require in answering all your orthodontic concerns. This step includes photographs, orthodontic x-rays, and study models. We will schedule subsequent appointments for this and for the presentation of the treatment plan.
